Take me out . . .

to the ball game! On perhaps one of the hottest and muggiest days in Washington DC history, we went to watch the Washington Nationals play the San Francisco Giants. The Nationals just happened to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and lost 3 – 6. Today was family day and the kids got to run the bases after the game. Additionally, all the kids 12 and under got free baseball mitts!

The new stadium is very nice and only three blocks from where I work. It is quite a change from the previous stadium. But the prices for professional baseball remains high. I cannot see going to more than a few games based on our seats, which where off the first base club level. There are some less expensive seats available in the upper stands which still have favorable sight lines to the action below. Additionally, there are some walkways with views to the Washington Monument as well as the Nations Capital. Click on the pictures at right to see more from that day.
