It was a long a productive season for the South County High School varsity lacrosse season as they advanced to the Virginia state regional tournament before ceding to Oakton High School in the semi-finals. Oakton then won the state championships against rival Robinson Secondary School. The season started in February and finished in June. There is no rest for Timothy as he immediately began the summer lacrosse season with Virginia Elite Lacrosse 2020. Look for those highlights at the end of the summer.
While there was a short break from Football since November, Timothy has been working on Lacrosse skills with both the Virginia Elite Lacrosse team and Fierce Nation Lacrosse league. Both have helped him keep his skills and he is looking forward to another fun spring season as a Sophomore with the South County High School team. He has also been very active keeping his grades up and as board member of his Synagogue.
Our challenge will be deconflicting all the opportunities being made to him for both Lacrosse and College Academics this coming summer.
We are looking forward to another great year. Sam is graduating this year, Nicole is a freshman at the National Champion University of Alabama (Roll Tide), and Timothy is half way through his sophomore year at high school. I have included a recap of his 2017 lacrosse year above. You may want to turn the volume down if you are not a fan of high speed guitar instrumentals. The first is “Righteous” from Eric Johnson and the second is “Surfing with the Alien” by Joe Satriani.
In addition to football, Timothy has been keeping up with his lacrosse skills this fall. He was part of a weekend league with his varsity team and played on the 2020 VEL team this last weekend at the Richmond Rumble. This was the first time they had played together as a team and won two out of the three games for the day. Timothy is number 20 on these clips.
While Timothy has only been playing this position since February, he certainly seems well suited for, and is enjoying the Long Stick Midfielder game.
After a month off at Camp Harlam, Timothy was back on the lacrosse field for a two day Lacrosse clinic/showcase in Maryland this summer. He is number 191 above. Over the course of two days, he had one team practice, a defense clinic, and five games. While he was a little rusty and had some problems with ground balls, he quickly recovered on the second day to get back to form. We had registered him for defense which was the position he normally played prior to JV. But once he started on the JV team this year, he was able to move to Long Stick Midfielder (LSM). During the showcase, he was primarily used on defense but did make a few rotations at LSM.
He was fortunate in that he started two a day football practice the day after returning from the showcase! This will be good conditioning for him and a great start to a new academic year.
