In addition to football, Timothy has been keeping up with his lacrosse skills this fall. He was part of a weekend league with his varsity team and played on the 2020 VEL team this last weekend at the Richmond Rumble. This was the first time they had played together as a team and won two out of the three games for the day. Timothy is number 20 on these clips.
While Timothy has only been playing this position since February, he certainly seems well suited for, and is enjoying the Long Stick Midfielder game.
After a month off at Camp Harlam, Timothy was back on the lacrosse field for a two day Lacrosse clinic/showcase in Maryland this summer. He is number 191 above. Over the course of two days, he had one team practice, a defense clinic, and five games. While he was a little rusty and had some problems with ground balls, he quickly recovered on the second day to get back to form. We had registered him for defense which was the position he normally played prior to JV. But once he started on the JV team this year, he was able to move to Long Stick Midfielder (LSM). During the showcase, he was primarily used on defense but did make a few rotations at LSM.
He was fortunate in that he started two a day football practice the day after returning from the showcase! This will be good conditioning for him and a great start to a new academic year.
South County Varsity Lacrosse, Freshman edition. Three of the freshman were pulled up to the varsity as an opportunity to expose them to a higher level of play. They were able to rotate in for the first play-off game against Annandale and were very excited to be playing. Look for SeanB #36, Tim-man #37, and MaxR #39.
This is the final goal of the 2017 South County JV Lacrosse team against a good Yorktown, Alexandria team. We love close competitive games and this was a good one to close out the season. Good job Max R! Continue reading Number Five Final Goal→
***Just added two more clips from the final game of the season against York Town High School. Close but fun game. The clips are at 2:26. ***
The season is coming to an end and South County had two games over two days. The first was at West Potomac with a numerical victory. The second was at home during the second half of the tournament against Robinson. It was a much more challenging game then the previous day and there was a lot of skill displayed on both sides. The JV team was able to pull out a win in the second half and the offense started to come together nicely. The final game is coming up on this Tuesday against Yorktown High School in Arlington.
