Couch Version 3

Couch Version 3

We recently re-upholstered our eight foot couch. This will be the third incarnation of the couch which was brought into the Leung family in the early 70’s. We had it re-upholstered during our tour in Bahrain in the mid 90’s where the labor was inexpensive, and this time by Mr. Kyu Cho, who lives in rural Virginia. Mr. Cho runs his business from his home and is the embodiment of the American Dream. A friend had recommended him and he is not short of work in this economic downturn. His focus is on repairing and re-upholstering old couches. While he has fabric swatches that customers may use to order material, many of them bring their own fabric from chains such as Jo Ann Fabrics or Calico Corner. If you live in the local area and desire his contact information, just pop me an email. For me, I can’t wait to go downstairs and take a nap on this eight foot couch…I just need to figure out how to keep Timothy from using it as a trampoline!

Snow Day #3!

Saturday Morning 2

Saturday Morning 2

You have probably heard that we are in the middle of another snow storm. We just had one early this week and the snow was was nearly melted. Everyone in the local area made a mad dash to the local grocery stores and they were pretty much cleared out by Friday morning. Snow shovels and snow boots were not to be had. The actual snow started a little early, around 1030, and was light until after sunset. I started preliminary shoveling in the evening around 2230 but as you can see in the photo albums, that did not make a bit of difference. So we will try to go back out this morning for round two. Our true objective is to create the snow fort!

Time for an Update!

November 29th, 2009 by Victor | Comments Off | Filed in Victor, admin

So I have not completed the website update but hope to do so during the holidays. I have completed the upgrade on our calendaring system but would like to investigate another way to tie this into our mobile devices without going offsite (google). Additionally, the web gallery is about two years old and in need of some new code, but am waiting to see if the new version of web gallery (v3.0) brings simplicity. So the near term effort will be to upgrade wordpress and then change the theme with new graphics. Hopefully, you all will see this in the next month, without a loss in the pictures that are already here.

There have been a lot of activity here in the Leung household, from two Bat Mitzvahs, to Gymnastics, Dance, and Soccer. So I hope to have these updates soon. In the meantime, I am including a favorite comic that reflects the new teenager in the house. The older one just had a birthday and is now in her 20’s!

Testing New Features

December 28th, 2008 by Victor | 1 Comment | Filed in Victor, admin

It’s been awhile since the format of this site has been updated. So there may be some changes in the next few months. It will require some time to change and the site may not always be available. Here is a list of things that I am thinking about changing:

  • Upgrade Web Calendar (enable synchronization with MS Outlook)
  • Upgrade Photo Gallery 2 to provide general feature and security updates
  • Upgrade to latest version of Word Press (most difficult installation as there are custom styles in this website)
  • Change theme and banner for theleungs.org
  • Until then, I’ve added a new page called the Leungs Puzzle page. Check it out and have some fun. Our family wishes you all the best in a Happy New Year!
