Recently we had the pleasure of meeting up with some friends from our time in Israel. Our friend Stefanie just had a birthday and everyone came out to support her. Candy had come out from Texas. We hope to meet them all again soon.

Aunt Elsa and the Leung Girls

Aunt Elsa and the Leung Girls

Click on the picture of Samantha, Aunt Elsa, and Nicole to go to the album. The Leungs spent time with family, Elsa and Carol, as well as visiting the Cowboys new Texas, Stadium and the John F. Kennedy memorial. It looks like we will be getting another foot of snow in the DC area. The grocery stores have been a mad house as people are preparing to be snowed in this weekend. Fairfax County schools will be closed on Friday, and the kids will have to start making up school days, for example, they will have to return on President’s day.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating

The Leung family went to Reston Town Center to do a little ice skating, well just the kids did. Samantha went with her team from Capital Gymnastics, Nicole had just come from Tap and Jazz and added ice dancing to her repertoire. Timothy and friend Owen also tried skating, although Timothy looked like Rocky…yo Adrian! Fortunately, it is still cold enough where outside skating can still be done!

Cold Weather Coming

Recently, the Leung and Nicholson family took a day trip to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.

The weather has been diving down to the 40’s and the leaves are starting to change. Harper’s Ferry is at the confluence of the Shenandoah River and the Potomac. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal runs through here, though now it is just a dried up ditch. John Brown had argued for abolition here and there was a large munitions factory here. a Gathering of Friends

…from the past. A good friend of mine was escorting a delegation from Japan back to the DC area. This was an opportunity to meet up with him as we hadn’t seen him since 2006. So along with the social occasion with the delegation, what you see at right are a ripe young bunch of Naval Academy graduates. From left to right; myself, Tony, and Steve are all from the class of 1985; Tim (now on active duty in Japan) is an 84 grad; and Steve’s father, who I believe is from the class of 1954 and a former Chief of Naval Operations. Stephanie worked for him briefly when he first took the job. It is great that after some 20 odd years we can run into old friends, many of them rotating in and out of the Washington DC (and Annapolis) area.
