Leungs in the Winners Circle

Leungs in the Winners Circle

We took our annual vacation a little early this year in order to make it to Stephanie’s 30th High School Reunion. Rather than drive straight to central Florida, we stopped along the way for a night in Savannah Georgia. We then took a leisurely drive to Daytona Beach where we spent the next three relaxing nights. We were even able to get a tour in of the the Daytona International Speedway (separate post). We spent the final three nights in Orlando for the reunion. During this vacation we got to celebrate two birthdays, Stephanie’s 39th birthday in Daytona and Orlando, and Nicole’s birthday at the Kobe steakhouse.

The Great Experiment

Today marks the birth of our Nation with the declaration of the independence of the original 13 colonies from the Monarchy of Britain. In the Leung family, we are no longer, as one colleague would say, “Fresh Off the Boat” and are grateful for the many opportunities that this country has afforded us. May the Great Experiment continue and we hope that you are having a fantastic holiday!

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America

Uncle David Truck

Uncle David stopped by to visit the family. He is on the East Coast to support Ride to Recovery, a veterans support group that rides around the country. For this Memorial Day ride, the Joint Chiefs of staff participated in the first leg, about a 45 mile ride from Arlington National Cemetery to Mananas. The kids got a kick out of his highly customized truck.

A little late, but we did explore a few local sites during Spring Break. One of those was at the home of George Mason, one of the founding fathers of the country. While the Mason family was very wealthy and owned a large property, their physical home is not much larger than today’s standard house. Unfortunately, the kids and their father was not a big fan of colonial architecture and design, but we did get to run around the property a bit which is less than six miles from our present home in Lorton.
